Here at MGB we started our love affair with experiential marketing back in 2003 when we launched the Ospreys by emblazoning the then unknown mask logo across the pavements of Neath and Swansea overnight. Many campaigns later and we’ve just finished our latest experiential activity after being asked by our client, the Big Heart of Swansea, to come up with a family-friendly Halloween themed attraction for the city centre during half term.
Our answer was a giant, fully branded Trick or Treat door which moved around the city centre all week. The idea was simple, children were invited to come and knock the door if they dared and our hairy monster hand creepily opened the door to hand out free Halloween treats! Whilst this was taking place, our promotional staff were busy data capturing from the accompanying adults and promoting the Big Heart of Swansea discounts and offers app.
We partnered with Walesonline to pre-promote the door locations all week online and in paper. We also worked with them to run a ‘Little Spooks’ fancy dress competition, which saw every child who knocked the door in fancy dress photographed and entered. This ensured the client not only benefitted from promotion across their own channels but that of Wales’ leading news website and social media channels.
